The WCB/FAB 2026 organisers can award full or partial conference scholarships to deserving applicants, subject to available funding.
These bursaries are primarily intended to support applicants from low or middle income countries. Students enrolled in Masters and Doctoral programmes from these countries are also eligible for consideration. Other applicants, such as early career researchers, may also be considered if there are compelling grounds.
Full scholarships will likely include accommodation, the conference fee, and a travel allowance of up to R15 000. Partial scholarships will not include a travel allowance. However, scholarships will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and awards will be made accordingly.
The scholarship committee will evaluate the proposals received by the deadline and inform all applicants of the outcome once selections have been made.
Successful applicants bear the costs and responsibility of obtaining travel visas if this is required for travel to South Africa. The organisers will provide a scholarship award letter and an official letter of invitation for visa purposes.
