CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Oral and/or Poster contributions would be valuable for the symposium theme and will be considered within any of the following five themes:         

  • Microbiomes in agrifood systems
  • Microbiomes in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems
  • Microbiomes and human health
  • Socio-ethical implications of microbiome research/Navigating social and ethical challenges
  • Advances in microbiome analysis

The deadline for abstract submission is Monday 23 September 2024 at 24h00.

- Choose the "Pay Later" option when submitting your abstract.

- This allows you to defer payment until you receive confirmation of acceptance.

Guidelines for abstract submission

Authors are requested to conform to the following guidelines for submission of abstracts:

  • Only abstracts submitted online will be considered for inclusion in the programme.
  • The abstract must be submitted in English.
  • The word limit for abstracts is 550 words.
  • The system allows you to edit and save your abstract but once the abstract has been submitted for review, editing will not be possible.
  • The criteria according to which all abstracts will be reviewed are provided as a way of guiding the development of your submission. These include, but not limited to:

Significance:

Significance for theory and practice, evidence of function or implementation

Originality:

Originality and level of innovativeness

Relevance:

Relevance to the conference themes

Clarity:

Clear goals, coherence and logical progression                                                                          
  • All abstracts will be reviewed.
  • Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Local Scientific Committee will be sent by email to the presenting author from  Friday 18 October  2024.
  • We strongly encourage submitting authors to register via the online registration system simultaneously with the abstract submission. If preferred payment can be done after acceptance of abstract.
  • Failure by the presenting author to register by Monday 28 October 2024 will imply that the abstract will neither be included in the Final Program nor be printed in the abstract book/and or mobile app.


SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

  1. Abstracts must be submitted electronically until the deadline Monday 23 September 2024 via the conference website.
  2. Please submit your abstract as per the detailed instructions.  
  3. Only online abstract submissions will be considered. Abstracts sent by email cannot be accepted.
