Prof Issam El Naqa
Head of Deparment of Machine learning, Moffitt Cancer Centre, Tampa, Florida
Issam El Naqa, PhD is the founding chair of the department of Machine Learning at Moffitt Cancer Center and Professor in oncological sciences Tampa, Florida. He is a certified Medical Physicist by the American Board of Radiology. He is a recognized authority in the fields of machine learning, data analytics, and oncology outcomes modeling and has published extensively in these areas with more than 250+ peer-reviewed journal publications, and 5 edited textbooks. He has been a member and fellow of several academic and professional societies including AAPM, IEEE, AIMBE. His research has been funded by several federal and private grants in Canada and the USA and served on national and international study sections. He acts as a peer-reviewer and editorial board member for several leading international journals in his areas of expertise.

Chris Trauernicht is the head of the medical physics
division at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, as well as an associate professor
at Stellenbosch University. He is the current president of the Federation of
African Medical Physics Organisations (FAMPO) and also serves on the
Accreditation Board of the International Organisation for Medical Physics
(IOMP). Chris has north of 150 congress contributions and 30 papers. He serves
as an assessor for the Health Professions Council of South Africa and has acted
as examiner and convenor for the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. The IAEA
has appointed Chris as expert on numerous occasions. Chris was the recipient of
the 2020 “International Day of Medical Physics” award for his services to
medical physics in the FAMPO region.
